Kopačevo is a village in the Municipality Bilje, located four kilometers east of Bilje – on the edge of the Kopački Rit Nature Park. Once the entire Kopačevo lived off of fish, with 200 fishermen. In fact, a large part of the area of the village is occupied by the Danube water and it is a place known for its abundance of fish. Today the people of Kopačevo are mostly concerned with gardening as evidenced by numerous greenhouses visible from afar. However, there is the widely known Kopačevska milled paper, an indispensable addition to the fish stew and other dishes of the Baranja region.
